How to Run Ubuntu from Pendrive

There is a good news for you.. Don't waste your disk space for loading an extra operating system in your computer and avoid problems related to partitioning. You can load any version of Ubuntu operating system from your pen drive(thumb drive). Just plug in your Ubuntu loaded pen drive and boot from it, sounds great right? Then go through the following steps to make it happen.

Step 1 : Download the latest version of Ubuntu operating system from the official Ubuntu page Download Latest Ubuntu. I you have a downloaded .iso version then don't look inti it.

Step 2 : Next we want the pen drive to become bootable for that Download Universal USB Installer software and install in your windows system. Now its simple our job is over now its machine's work to make it done for us.

Step 3 : Open Universal USB Installer and choose the Ubuntu version you have with you. If its not listed in it don't worry just choose the Ubuntu option and locate your downloaded ISO file. it may look like ubuntu-amd-64.iso or some thing like that and select your pen drive as source then click OK.

Step 4 : Follow the instructions and wait until it completes. Then restart your system and enter into Boot Device Selection Menu. There are some specific keys to do so and it may differ according to the System you are using. Commonly F8, F10, Escape Keys are used. In the Boot device selection Menu your pen drive Drive letter will be shown and select that option and press Enter. Now Operating system will Load from your Pen drive. There will be two options available for you Install Ubuntu and Try Ubuntu Simply select try Ubuntu and start working on it. Is it simple ?

Note : Use At least 4GB Pen drive.

WAMP SERVER Installation Error MSVRCR100.dll is missing.

I have encountered a problem while installing WAMP Server on my PC, it shows an error message saying that 'MSVCRC100.dll Missing and exits the installation and the WAMP icon stays offile. How it can be solved?? Try what i have done and send your feedback.

4.Perform Disk Cleanup.

Disk cleanup is a utility which cleans up unnecessary files from the drive.
(Start->programs->Accessories->System tools->Disk cleanup) choose all unwanted files and click ok.


5.Perform Disk De-fragmentation.

Disk De fragmentation is a tool which arranges the fragmented files in the disk. when ever we write files into the hard disk it is stored in different locations in the disk, by De fragmenting these files are grouped together and it enables fast access of data from the hard disk.Rather than getting free memory this is a good practice to do De fragmentation.

FAMOUS VIRUSES

1.SASSER WORM

This type of virus enters into computer through some ports which are opened by default. SASSER virus invented in the year 2003 which enters into the computers which are installed with windows 2000 and windows xp operating systems.

The fault in these products like 'Buffer overflow' lead them to develop such a virus it automatically enters if the computer has internet connection. when it is entered into the system it automatically shuts down the system. now patch programs are available to prevent such viruses.

2.BEAST (Trogen horse)

This is the first virus which implemented 'Reverse connection' mechanism with this the virus programmer can have full control over the affected system. This virus was developed using Delphi programming language and it was created by Tattaye. Now also some innovated versions of this virus are available.

3. SQL SLAMMER

This virus implemented the method of 'Denail of service' which are mainly used to break the websites. This is invented in the year 2003 and within 10 minutes it is affected by more than 75000 computers which is also having the operating system failure 'Buffer overflow'.

This is a mail attached virus which is having the name 'LOVE-LETTER-FORYOU.
TXT.vbs'. it is created using a visual basic script and attached with mails but it will not be having the extension '.vbs' it will be showing the extension '.txt' with that user will suddenly open and the cript will get executed.

it was first found in the year 2000 in Philippians was developed by Reyomel lameras and his friend onel de gusmen. when it attacks a computer it destroys the mail server and mail client and forwards the mail to all contacts and it was a big problem for the business corporates. This virus having a record that the most affected virus in the year 2002.

5. NIMDA virus

 It is the reverse form of ADMIN this virus automatically sends a README.exe file and destroys the web pages and automatically downloaded into the local system when a webpage is visited. It shares the local folders into web servers and changes the functioning of executable files in the system and spreads itself to all other computers. computers including different class of operating systems are affected by this virus.

6. MYDOOM virus

This virus having the record that the fast spreader virus in the year 2004. it spreads through mails which is having the word 'andy; I'm just doing my job, nothing personal, sorry,' which means that the inventor of this virus done this for money or for just a time pass. Russia is the invented country of this virus.

What is a Computer Virus?

Computer viruses are special programs that will be hidden and will be intruded into the computer with the help of  some autorun files.

What is an autorun.inf file?

It is a file which is automatically invoked when a particular device gets connected to the system which supports autorun facility. Most of the commercial CD/DVD provides the facility of autorun to make the application user friendly.

 In case of CD/DVD when the disk is inserted the program should be invoked will be mentioned in the autorun.inf file which is stored in that particular disk.

It is actually an unpredictable thing that from where it comes to the system, up to some extend it is predictable most of the virus programs comes into system through pen drives and from the internet.

How to identify a virus ?

1.Many of them will not be having an iconic image.

2.Many of them will be an executable file or other fileswhich are affected by virus.

3.Virus applications name will be some times special like (new folder.exe,123.exe).

4.Virus applications size will be most probably less than 1 MB.

How to prevent virus applications and to recover from virus attacks?

1.Disable the autorun facility on usb and cd/dvd rom in services.msc.

2.As mentioned earlier viruses are hidden in normal widows operating system it is difficult to see the virus file so use any applications that enables us to view the hidden files in the system( i prefer winrar ).

3. Try to open the drive or files in explore mode try to avoid double clicking on the drive.( if you feel that your computer is attacked by virus)

4. Always keep a fresh backup copy of your drive where the operating system is installed.(with all the motherboard drivers and software installed i personally prefer Norton ghost)

5. Remove unwanted applications from startup(Run->msconfig->startup)

6. Don't open your pen drive when it's icon image is changed. it is changed when viruses attacks the drive.

7.if you are not disabled your auto run facility then disable the auto run by pressing down the shift key when the device is plugged in. By doing so auto run will not be get activated.

8. if you are identified any virus programs by viewing it with some applications like winrar try to delete it permanently by shift+delete.

9.Does not go through unsecured sites.

10. Log in to your computer in safe mode. restart the system and after the manufactures logo press F8 for advanced boot option and choose safe mode or safe mode with networking.


{A good practice is to backup your OS installed drive along with full settings to restore your system settings after any kind of virus attacks. for backups use Norton ghost or use normal windows backup Start->programs->Accessories->System tools->Backup.)

smaller value, 50 for example.

17. Renaming Desktop Icons

Now you should decide what will be the name of "My computer" add your name or your favorite name on various icons.

How to create a Bootable USB

CREATING A BOOTABLE USB

Requirements to create bootable Windows USB:

1.Windows 7 or Vista ISO


2.Pen drive with 4GB+ (2 GB is sufficient for XP)


(Estimated time 15 min)


Procedure:

1. Insert your USB flash/pen drive to your system and backup all the data from the USB as your USB drive will be formatted during the process.

2. Now download WinToFlash tool (free) from here.

3. Run the tool, and browse to your Windows 7, Vista, or XP DVD files (make sure that your USB drive letter is correct).

4. Click Create button to begin the bootable USB process. Wait for few minutes to see the bootable USB.

5. That’s all!

 

Solution for Generic Host Process for Win32 Services Error

PROBLEM

 I have experienced with a problem which shows an error message Generic Host Process for Win32 Services Error or shows svchost.exe memory write error or Your PC has recovered from a serious problem error message. It was happened so while am connecting to the internet through mobile, after the connection procedures are over and connect to the internet my avira anti virus blocking some viruses which are new to my system and automatically disconnects me from the internet. By searching for the solution to this problem i discovered that it is because of some ports which are defaultly opened in our system for some other purpose. I tried to close some of these ports by using the Windows Worms Door Cleaner and it was worked. Now if you are having problem like this please try the following steps. SOLUTION 1

• Go to the start menu
• Right click “My computer”
• Click “properties” then the “automatic updates” tab
• Choose “turn off automatic updates”
• Restart your computer
• Go back to start menu and in all programs go to “windows update” you have to be connected to the internet
• Manually update windows
• Turn your automatic updates back on

SOLUTION 2

• Go to Run and type regedit
• Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE >> SYSTEM >> CurrentControlSet >> Services >> Browser >> Parameters
• Find the key IsDomainMaster
• Set its value to False
• Restart the compute. 

SOLUTION 3

• Go to Run and type cmd.
• Type ‘netsh’ in command console then press enter.
• Then type ‘winsock’ and press enter and then type reset.
• Restart the computer.
